Choosing your white backing
- CMYK: full colour straight onto the frosted plastic. Unprinted areas stay translucent, and colours come out lighter and see-through.
- CMYK + full white backing: we lay solid white under your entire design, so colours print vivid and opaque. You lose the see-through effect, but gain bold colour.
- CMYK + spot white backing: white only where you want it. Keep the frosted look in some places and solid, punchy colour (like your logo) in others.
Dark colours or photos in your design? Go for full or spot white backing. Without it, they'll look faded on the frosted surface.
Artwork tips
- Send PDF, PSD, PNG, JPG, TIFF or SVG (or ZIP it up). Please don't send .ai or .eps files. Save as PDF instead.
- Set up in CMYK at 300dpi or higher, at 89 x 54mm.
- Choosing spot white? Include a separate layer or page marking exactly where the white ink goes.
- Keep it clean and high-contrast, and skip tiny or hairline text, since see-through plastic makes it tough to read.
- Leave some areas ink-free to show off the frosted effect. Fine-detail logo? Put white backing behind it for crisp edges.
FAQs
Can you print on both sides?
No. The card is see-through, so printing on both sides would make the two designs overlap and become unreadable. These are single-sided only.
Are they really waterproof?
Yes. Both the plastic and the print are fully waterproof, and the card won't tear like paper.
I have several names. Do I need separate orders?
Nope. Just set "Number of names / designs" and each one is printed in the pack size you pick (e.g. 3 names x 200 cards = 600 cards).
